Movement Vs. Stillness

Movement is power. Stillness is just as powerful, if not more. We’ve been given the ability to do both. Our souls get out of balance when we fail to recognize both as equally important. It’s rare in our American society to find space to become aware of the very breath we’ve been given, and we too often lose sight of the passing colors, the shadowing and highlighting of God’s canvas sky. It takes conscious effort to remember, and remembering is power.

After a long day in which my husband and I felt as if we’d never arrive home, we made it to our patio just in time to say goodnight to the sun as it bowed beneath the horizon, casting its light onto a myriad of clouds. We leaned back in our rocking chairs, swaying in unison to a tempo divine. In one breath, the demands of the day were let go with a whisper of “thank you”.
